My name is Janine Bloomfield. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and National Counselling Society (NCS). I adhere to their ethical frameworks. For more details, please visit their website, here.
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and certified sand play therapist, based in Wokingham, Berkshire. I offer individual face to face and remote counselling and therapeutic support to children, young people and adults.
As well as heading up Wokingham Counselling Services, I work part time as a School Counsellor and have worked within CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) for the NHS.
I have previously coordinated the Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provision within a large, local secondary school. Before this role, I worked within a primary setting as a nurture assistant (ELSA based). I have spent many years supporting vulnerable children and young people with mental well-being and complex mental health concerns.
Personally, I am a mother of three teenage children, all born and raised within the local Wokingham area. We have had our own experiences of the highs and lows of life, this I feel has made me a more empathic and supportive counsellor and therapeutic practitioner.
I have a positive outlook on life, like being with nature and particularly love being at the beach. I enjoy sport, going to the gym regularly, swimming for fitness and running both half and full marathons for charities.
I like to challenge myself and have the mindset of ‘If I believe I can, I will!’
